The club was founded in 1986, and work on the Golf Course started in 1988. Due to public funding and a lot of voluntary wourk by the members, the club succeeded in completing the construction work in 1994.

 

Today Nes Verk Golfpark is one of the largest and best golf courses in Norway. The club can offer

an 18-hole undulated course of high standard (par 72), and a 9-hole challenging Pay & Play Course

(par 27 - 973 m.), driving range and putting green.

 

For admission to the whole grounds the charge is 350,- NOK per day (Week-ends and July 400,- NOK).

Greenfee only for the shorthole course is 150,- NOK per day (Week-ends and July 200,- NOK).

Juniors half price.

Inexperienced golfers may play this Pay & Play Course.

1/2 Sets can be rented int the GolfShop (50,- NOK per day).

 

The Driving Range is open to everybody. A bucket with 32 range-balls costs 20,- NOK.

Clubs can be borrowed in the GolfShop.

 

In The Shop it is possible to buy all the nesesarry equipment. Greenfee is paid in the Golf Shop.

In comparison to other clubs the A&O GC maintains very low entrance and membership fees.

Considerable discounts are given to spouses/cohabitants, juniors, youths, students and pensioners.

Spesial Company Membership are available.

 

For beginners the club arranges courses in golf rules an etiquette at regular intervals.

In order to obtain the Green Card (player's certificate) you have to pass a theoretical and practical test. Information about courses and test is available in the GolfShop or phone 0047-37199030.

 

Nesgrenda Vel has cleared and marked many courses for hiking in the area. If you go on a walking tour you will find beautiful scenery and many interesting sports. In the lakes and in the river there are many good places for swimming.

Storelva which runs through Nes Verk, has a good stock of salmon and trout.

Fishing cards can be bought at a reasonable price in the GolfShop.

 

Exit from E-18 to Rv. 418 by Statoilstation, Fiansvingen (signposted to "Næs Jernverksmuseum" / "Golfbane 3"). Follow Rv. 415 to Nesgrenda. Whereafter you mak a left turn (still signposted). Immediately past Næs Jernverksmuseum (Naes Ironwork museum) you arrive our relatively large carpark on the left side. (May be pretty crowded during the season)

 

Arendal & Omegn Golfclub (Nes Verk Golfpark) is situated in beautiful countryside surroundings at         Nes Verk, 3 km from Fiansvingen. The exit from E-18 is signposted with "GOLFBANE 3", which makes it easy to find the grounds.
